How I Analyze Data for My Anchor Podcast

I am a podcast producer for People, Talking People and cre8tives.co — the podcast. Part of my role is to do some market research to see the things we can do to grow, obtain, and retain listeners.

I recently checked some stats for the podcast on Anchor.fm and found some remarkable data: my top performing episode is a) one I edited and b) one I created a blog post for.

So I started thinking: what are the next most performing episodes and how are they performing against the top performing episode?

Sure enough the next performing episodes were at 42–41 listens against 49 listens for the top performing episode. Again, it made me think: if I can get an episode to 49 listens with one blog post how much more can I get with creating blog posts for other top performers?

I made a video for you to view to see the end result of my thought process.
